Cegos Asia Pacific - Learning & Development (L&D) Project Manager (Malaysia & APAC)

Location: Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid Work Arrangement)
Full-Time | Regional Scope | APAC Coverage
Salary Range: RM 6,500 – RM 7,500 per month

 

About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing L&D Project Manager to join our APAC team in Kuala Lumpur.

This role is more than just coordination; you will be the project lead for training programs across 11 countries in Asia Pacific, working directly with clients’ HRBPs, senior business leaders, and trainers. You’ll manage projects end-to-end, ensuring smooth delivery, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

For ambitious talent, this role also comes with a potential career path to Regional Operations Lead within 2–3 years, where you will take on greater leadership and regional operations responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project & Client Management

  • Act as project lead for L&D programs across up to 11 APAC countries, from planning through delivery.
  • Manage project timelines, weekly tracking, and ensure successful execution of client requests.
  • Partner with clients’ HRBPs and Business Leaders on post-sales training requests.
  • Organise client-trainer alignment meetings to clarify objectives and expectations.

 

Trainer & Vendor Management

  • Identify, assess, and engage trainers, consultants, and training providers to match client needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with trainers, ensuring smooth collaboration.

 

Operations & Logistics

  • Coordinate training logistics: POs, scheduling, venues/virtual setup, participant lists, materials, and evaluations.
  • Serve as the link between finance, HR, trainers, and clients for seamless execution.
  • Provide virtual and occasional onsite support for training sessions across APAC.

 

Quality & Reporting

  • Track attendance, collect and analyse participant feedback, and prepare post-training reports.
  • Recommend process improvements to scale efficiency and consistency across countries.

 

Career Growth Path

Immediate Role (Year 1) – L&D Project Manager (APAC)

  • Lead end-to-end training program management across multiple countries.
  • Build client trust and refine operational excellence.

 

Next Step (Years 2–3) – Regional Operations Lead (Malaysia / APAC)

  • Lead a small project management/operations team.
  • Standardise processes and reporting across Malaysia / APAC.
  • Partner with the Head of Office on regional delivery strategy and budget management.
  • Represent operations in client reviews and national / regional leadership discussions.

 

Future Trajectory (Beyond 3 years) – Deputy Head of Office / Regional Ops Director

  • Take full ownership of APAC-wide delivery operations.
  • Act as second-in-command to the Head of Office (Malaysia).
  • Drive innovation in program delivery and client experience.

Key Attributes & Competencies

We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and mindset:

  • Proven project management skills across multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication – able to work with senior executives across APAC.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, without losing sight of regional priorities.
  • Tech-savvy with strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and online collaboration tools.
  • Agile and flexible, able to thrive in both structured MNC and dynamic startup settings.
  • Comfortable working across Asia Pacific and occasional Europe time zones.
  • Familiarity with HRD Corp (HRDC) training requirements in Malaysia is a strong plus.

 

Background & Experience

  • 3–5 years in Learning & Development (in-house HR/L&D, or external training provider/consultancy).
  • Experience in a regional or global scope within an MNC or large enterprise is strongly preferred.
  • Bonus: Prior exposure to startup or fast-growth environments as a project lead/director.

 

Reporting Line

This position reports directly to the Head of Office (Cegos APAC).

Functional reporting line to: Head of MTS Business (Cegos China).

The Position: Head of Sales Malaysia (m/f/d)

The incumbent will be responsible for the complete spectrum of Industrial Sales & Sales Management for customers in Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia, driving significant sales growth in these markets.

He, or she develops and executes sales strategies to meet regional sales targets and business objectives and collaborate with marketing and product teams to align those strategies. Moreover, manages and leads sales teams in Malaysia, agents in Philippines and distributors, ensuring high performance and alignment with regional goals. This includes to identify new market opportunities within SEA and adapt strategies for different markets for the various products and services.

Monitoring and analysing sales data, preparing regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends are also relevant parts of the job description.

The product portfolio for above countries covers e.g. equipment, machinery and consumables. The group manages around 50 brands.

 

Your Profile

The following qualifications will enable you to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the company’s continued success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical engineering is preferred).
  • About 8-12 years of experience on Industrial sales & sales management. Preferably from the Packaging industry, having customer based on Metal, Automotive, FMCG, F&B industry, Logistics.
  • Several years of working experience in one or several of the above mentioned countries (plus Malaysia).
  • Hunter mindset and well versed in selling premium products. Demonstrate the knowledge and experience in value and solution selling.
  • Having experience on managing and leading sales teams in Malaysia, agents in Philippines and distributors ensuring high performance and alignment with regional goals.
