Disclaimer

Effective 1 June 2026, the salary thresholds for Employment Passes (EPs) will be revised upward across all categories:
  • Category I: The minimum monthly salary will double from RM10,000 to RM20,000, with a maximum employment duration of 10 years.
  • Category II: The eligible monthly salary band will shift from RM5,000–RM9,999 to RM10,000–RM19,999, with a maximum employment duration of 10 years and a local workforce succession plan required.
  • Category III: The eligible monthly salary band will move from RM3,000–RM4,999 to RM5,000–RM9,999 (or RM7,000–RM9,999 for those in the manufacturing sector), with a maximum employment duration of 5 years and a local workforce succession plan required. Notably, Category III EP holders will, for the first time, be permitted to bring dependants into the country.
