MGCC appoints fourth female President
The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) has appointed Henkel Malaysia President Teoh Tsu-Shien as its fourth female president, with women now comprising 38% of its Board of Directors.

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 June 2026 — The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) appointed Henkel Malaysia President Teoh Tsu-Shien as its new President following the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting on 18 June.
Held at the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, the 35th AGM marked a significant milestone for the Chamber, with Teoh becoming the fourth woman to lead the bilateral trade support organisation in its 35-year history. Her appointment reflects MGCC’s continued commitment to progressive leadership and gender diversity, with women now making up 38% of its Board of Directors.
Teoh brings more than three decades of industrial and regional leadership experience to the role. Since joining Henkel Malaysia in 1994, she has held a series of senior appointments spanning sales, key account management, business development and supply chain across the APAC region, before assuming the Presidency of Henkel Malaysia in mid-2018. She concurrently serves as Head of Key Account Management for Consumer Goods and Packaging for SEA within Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies business unit.
During the AGM, MGCC Executive Director Hannes Farlock thanked the outgoing President, Florian Herrmann, Chief Financial Officer of Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, who steered the Chamber over the past year, and welcomed Teoh into the role.
“My sincere thanks to Florian, a great President who over the past year gave our whole team both clear guidance and, just as importantly, the freedom to take things on and change them. I am glad to welcome Tsu-Shien as our new President. Three decades of industrial and regional leadership at one of Germany’s most respected manufacturers are exactly what we need as we deepen bilateral trade and keep delivering for our members,” said Farlock.
As the new President, Teoh will oversee MGCC’s activities, which represent the interests of more than 460 members by connecting German and Malaysian companies to promote foreign trade and investment.
“It is an honour to take on the presidency of MGCC at such an exciting juncture for German Malaysian economic ties. Drawing from my experience in industry across the region, I look forward to working with the board and the team to strengthen MGCC’s role as a trusted partner for German investors in Malaysia, and to opening new avenues of growth for our members on both sides,” Teoh said.
The AGM also featured a Fireside Chat session bringing together Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA); H.E. Silke Riecken-Daerr, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Malaysia; and Kirsten Schoder-Steinmüller, Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
The panel exchanged perspectives on the outlook for German-Malaysian economic relations, foreign direct investment trends, and the priorities shaping bilateral trade in the years ahead.
