Mercedes-Benz has further solidified its presence in the Asia Pacific region with the opening of its new Regional Logistics Centre Malaysia (RLCM) in Senai Airport City, Johor. This cutting-edge facility, operated by Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, aims to enhance after-sales services by streamlining logistics across 20 countries in the region.
Spanning over 1 million square feet, the RLCM is equipped with state-of-the-art systems, including advanced warehouse management technologies and automated systems, to optimise operational efficiency. The facility primarily handles the distribution of spare parts, accessories, and workshop tools for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and vans.
The investment in Malaysia, which will increase up to RM1.5 billion by 2035, underscores Mercedes-Benz’s long-term commitment to the region. The strategic location of Johor, with its robust infrastructure and skilled workforce, makes it an ideal hub for logistics operations in Southeast Asia. Mercedes-Benz’s focus on environmental sustainability is also a key feature of the facility, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2039.
The new logistics centre not only strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s supply chain but also contributes to the local economy by creating high-value jobs and offering training in logistics and supply chain management, supporting Malaysia’s goal of becoming a Global Services Hub by 2025.
This development marks one of Mercedes-Benz’s largest logistics projects in the past decade, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and customer care across the Asia Pacific region.
