Goethe-Institut

Founded in 1962, the Goethe-Institut Malaysia is Germany’s official cultural institute and one of the earliest German institutions in Southeast Asia. As part of a global network of 154 institutes in 100 countries, we promote the German language and foster international cultural exchange between Malaysia and Germany. Beyond language courses, the Institute presents diverse cultural programmes through exhibitions, film screenings, music perfomances, and discussions that engage with contemporary topics in art, technology, and society. We also support the Malaysian education sector by working closely with schools and teachers to establish and sustain German language programmes. Through our Language Media Centre, website, and social media platforms, the Goethe-Institut Malaysia offers insights into modern German culture and society. As a dynamic hub for education, cultural exchance, and collaborations, we continue to strengthen mutual understanding and long-term partnerships between Malaysian and German communities.
