Bosch Group Malaysia (BGM), established since 1923 has three manufacturing sites and R&D offices in Penang. A fourth manufacturing site at Batu Kawan is under construction. Robert Bosch (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd incorporated in 1972 at Bayan Lepas FTZ, Phase 1, marked its 50th anniversary. It has two business portfolios which are Automotive Electronics (AE) and Cross Domain Computing Solutions (XC) with a focus on Infotainment and Instrumentation systems. Robert Bosch Power Tools Sdn Bhd, incorporated in 1992, is located at Bayan Lepas Industrial Park, Phase 4 for 30 years. It develops and produces cordless/ corded power tools, cordless measuring tools, battery packs, AC motors and power tube for electronic bicycle. Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Sdn Bhd, incorporated in 1982 at Perai Industrial Estate, develops and produces car steering systems and its components. In 2021, BGM generated sales revenue around of RM 583 million in Malaysia and currently employs around 4,400 associates.
