Mechatronics
As a mechatronics technician, you can find employment easily in companies involved in machinery and plant engineering. You can work in the automation technology sector, as well as in the vehicle-, air- or spacecraft construction industry. Also in the fields of information and medical technology your expertise is required.
Your job
A mechatronics technician is a technical all-rounder who is well prepared for the technical innovations of Industry 4.0. In their daily work, mechatronics technicians build complex mechanical, electrical and electronical components and mechatronic systems, e.g. robots for industrial production. If you become a mechatronics technician you are going to learn to build individual components and assemble them to systems and production lines. Also, putting the finished production units into operation and installing the software is among your tasks. You follow circuit diagrams and design drawings, and carefully inspect the systems before handing them over to the customers. Furthermore, you are responsible for maintaining mechatronic systems and repairing them if necessary.
